C2CA Technology
C2CA (Concrete to Cement & Aggregates) Technology is a partnership between GBN Group and TU Delft that emerged in 2016 as a spin-off from a European research project.
Our mission is to create a completely closed concrete loop in which 100% of end-of-life (EOL) concrete is recycled into high quality circular raw materials.
Concrete recycling is necessary because concrete has a huge impact on the environment. Concrete is the most widely-used raw material in the world thanks to its relatively low cost and good technical properties. But concrete accounts for 8% of total global CO2 emissions, the bulk of which is related to the production of cement. In Europe alone, more than 300 million tons of construction and demolition waste is produced every year and 80% of that is rubble. This will only increase in years to come as many post-war buildings reach the end of their useful life.
By developing our concrete recycling technology, we are helping to reduce both the overconsumption of natural, primary raw materials and CO2 emissions.
